Saturday 4th September is #MacadamiaNutDay. It’s a day to celebrate our special native nuts and the dynamic farming industry that grows them!
Macadamias are delicious, but did you also know they are 100% Australian? Macadamias originated 60 million years ago in ancient rainforests on Australia’s east coast and wild macadamias can still be found growing in secluded pockets of remnant rainforest. Today, Australia is the leading global producer of this indulgent nut and Aussies can’t get enough of their homegrown flavour. We consume more per capita than anywhere else in the world!
Rather than just grabbing a healthy handful, Macadamia Nut Day is a day to go crazy celebrating the buttery deliciousness and soft crunch of the nut we all adore.
1) Whip up a batch of macadamia and white chocolate biscuits to share with your family. The classic recipe is here.
