How to harvest and store your nuts.<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c737530 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c737530\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Collect the nuts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Nuts usually fall to the ground when they are ready to eat and it\u2019s best to collect them up as soon as possible. If they haven\u2019t fallen by the end of Spring, you can pick the nuts from the tree.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Remove the husks:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Do this immediately. Husks can be mulched and used in the garden or composted.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Dry the nuts: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ll need a dry place with a steady temperature above 30\u00b0C. This could be a sunny, north-facing window sill or a shelf next to a hot water system. A dehydrator will also work, but we don\u2019t recommend using the oven.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Get cracking: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Macadamia shells are notoriously hard so you\u2019ll need a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.australian-macadamias.org\/zh\/four-favourite-macadamia-nutcrackers\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">specialist nutcracker<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to remove the edible kernel.
